A sophisticated Italian ristorante offering a seasonally driven menu of Neil Perry's favourite regional Italian recipes.
Located at the northern end of the promenade near Crown Towers, Rosetta is a sophisticated Italian ristorante that combines an impressive Iain Halliday-designed dining room with professional and authentic service, and a seasonally driven menu of Neil's favourite regional recipes from his extensive travels through Italy.
At the heart of Rosetta's fast-paced kitchen is a wood fired oven and char-grill for creating simple Italian dishes such as suckling pig, roast chicken and wood fired suckling lamb. Pasta is also a major feature of the menu with two dedicated chefs hand-making over 16 different kinds each day, from maccaronara, cavatelli and garganelli to the more traditional fettuccine, pappardelle and gnocchi.
Head Chef Brendan Sheldrick works closely with Neil, interpreting his modern, produce-inspired philosophy, while putting his own touches on the menu.
As with all Rockpool Group restaurants, wine is an important part of Rosetta's offering. Managed by Restaurant Manager and Sommelier Daniele Bilancetti, the wine list features over 700 Italian varietals from both Italy and Australia.
With an extraordinary vista of Melbourne's skyline, Rosetta seats 100 people in the restaurant and 80 on the heated alfresco terrace overlooking the promenade and Yarra River.
A small bar in the centre of the dining room, with views to the busy kitchen, seats 10 people while the private dining room, with a modern Warhol-inspired mural of The Last Supper, accommodates 20 people.
