Ari Kolender is Coming to Melbourne
Are you a fan of fried chicken? Hungry for hot sauce or screaming for southern food? Then get ready because acclaimed US Chef, Ari Kolender, is heading down under.
This August, Ari is giving Melburnians a taste of true southern cooking. Hailing from South Carolina, the birthplace of southern cuisine, Ari is ready to share the secrets of his famous fried chicken and other mouthwatering dishes.
Ari will be taking over The Merrywell
at Crown between 4 - 11 August, providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy some of his favourite dishes. Some of the Southern delights on offer will be Anson Mills skillet cornbread served with jalapeno and honey butter and his famous fried chicken with obligatory hot sauce.
Ari’s quick Chowchow, a tangy mix of freshly pickled veggies will be served with cumin, coriander and Lady Peas with relish. Oysters are matched with a flavoursome mix of bacon, Worcestershire sauce and parmesan while a traditional Pimento cheese dip will be accompanied by saltine crackers, pickled cucumber and green onions.
