MINISTRY OF CRAB 2024
Wednesday to Sunday, 28 march - 27 April
Book in, bib up and prepare yourself for round 2 of Ministry of Crab at Crown Melbourne. Due to the overwhelming success of their Australian debut in 2022, the Ministry of Crab team is heading back to Melbourne for a month-long residency, in the incredible surrounds of Evergreen.
For those of you who missed out on 2022’s flavour sensation, this is your chance to sink your teeth into incredible Australian mud crabs prepared a variety of ways. For those of you lucky enough to have experienced Ministry of Crab, expect a refreshed menu featuring international favourites, renowned in the industry for their saucy Sri Lankan flavours, Japanese culinary philosophies, and, of course, sweet, juicy crab.
Launched in December 2011, Ministry of Crab is the creation of chef-restaurateur Dharshan Munidasa, in partnership with Sri Lankan cricketing legends Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara. It was created as a culinary homecoming of Sri Lanka’s legendary lagoon crab, which has long gained popularity outside of the island.
This award-winning restaurant from Sri Lanka has been featured consecutively on the coveted ‘Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ list. Today, Ministry of Crab has outposts in Shanghai, Chengdu, Mumbai, Bangkok, and Maldives.
Crab-connoisseurs, crab novices and everyone in between, grab your foodie friends and get your hands dirty (if you wish); cutlery is optional, and flavours are guaranteed. Hurry as this pop-up will only be housed in Crown Melbourne for a limited time.
