History of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship
Poker was introduced to Crown in June 1997 with the first major championship, then known as the Australasian Poker Championship, held in July 1998. The Main Event was a $1,000 buy in Limit Holdem tournament that attracted 74 entries with a total prize pool of $74,000.
Now that the 2018 Aussie Millions Poker Championship has concluded we can congratulate the winner of the largest ever Aussie Millions Main Event in history. Toby Lewis claims the title along with AUD$1,458,198 in prize money, and the custom made diamond-encrusted gold bracelet by ANTON Jewellery. This year's Aussie Millions Main Event attracted a record field of 800, defeating the mark of 781 set back in 2008, and in the process created a huge prize pool of AUD$8,000,000.
